Our Sweet Laura's Engaged!!
Laura and her boyfriend David celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday. They both are usually working during the week. David took her to Melting Pot for dinner then he asked her to marry him-of course she said yes!
We knew it was happening because about two weeks before David showed up here to ask Dave and I for our permission. It was really funny because she kept telling me about how one of her friends knew her boyfriend was going to ask her to marry him. It really was really hard to keep quite!!
Never the less it goes to say Laura is walking on air these days!!

Road Trip With Dave
Dave had ti take a trip to Kansas this week. It was cheaper for him to drive than to fly so I went on the road trip with him.It was a nice little Valentine's present for both of us. Lots of time to just visit with one another in the car on the way up. We also got to go to HuHot there for our Valentines dinner.Though we couldn't stop anywhere on the way up Thursday because he had to do a check ride that night after we had dinner-we did some stopping on the way home.
While still in Kansas we stopped at a couple of Native American Museums. The first one was really nice-it had a beautiful trail with alot of statues and stonework that was beautiful. We really enjoyed ourselves!
This is really the only picture of the second place we stopped-it was kind of a disappointment-it labeled itself as a Native American Museum but was really just a one room school house and pioneer stuff.
The Native American artwork at the first place was wonderful!!
The stonework on the trail was truly amazing!
These are a couple of statues on the little pond there. The pond was full of Canadian Geese and ducks.
More of the stonework.
Cool lamp post!
More stonework.
Here's some of the ducks that met us on the trail. I happened to have a small bag of trail mix the hotel had given us when we checked in-so I gave them half of the little bag. It was funny because when we had walked around the whole trail which was quite a little ways they met us on the other side! Lucky I had saved half of the bag for them!
This little guy was sooo cute-he was the ringleader! He followed us all the way to our car wanting more!!!!!!
It turned out to be a really nice road trip for Dave and I-nice Valentine gift!!

Two Finishes-A Book And Cross Stitch-Daves Coming Home!!!
Well I finally finished reading Killing Lincoln! It was a really good book .Then again I love history. I now need to start reading Killing Kennedy. Hope I can find the time to get it read alot quicker than this one.
I also got my next sampler done. I think it turned out really nice. I've started the strawberry one.Just hope it goes as quickly as the last two!
Dave's on his way home from London-he just called and he's in Houston. He should be home later tonight. Boy am I ready for him to come home this time! He has been gone way too long for me.Too bad for me he says March will be just as bad-Linnie will be going on another trip with him to D.C. again in March. They wear each other out with their sightseeing trips.Oh well no need to be thinking about that now I'll be glad to have him home for a couple of weeks!!!

Mom's Last Cross Stitch For Us
Michaels called last night to tell me my framing was done. It was a pleasant surprise since it was five days ahead of schedule. This is the last cross stitch Dave's Mom did for us so I wanted to get it framed. When she would come to visit she would always want me to come up with some little project for her to do. Sometimes it would be cleaning something out for me or a cross stitch. She had gotten where she didn't see well (i can relate to that!) so it would have to be something simple. This was the last one she did for me-one of my favorite scriptures . I was really proud of how it turned out! Dave picked out the matting and frame for me.Anyway can't wait till Dave get home tomorrow to see it.

National Pancake Day
Today is National Pancake Day and of course Linnie thought it a great day to go to IHOP for dinner. I must tell you Linnie would think any day was a great day to go to IHOP. But with Dave in London it seemed like a good reason to get out of the house. He spent the last week in Dallas and was home for one day then off to London for ten days. I hate when he's gone this much-I never have slept well when he is away-so going out with the girlies was a nice break for all three of us! And besides who doesn't love pancakes!?!

The Framer Called
Well Dave got home from Dallas late last night-so as pure usual we have spent the day running around getting ready for him to leave for London tomorrow. We took another cross stitch in to get it framed and they had just finished this one. I think it turned out really nice. Now we just need to put it in the mail today before he leaves.
